What is Bern City Sevens?
Bern City Sevens is an International Rugby 7s Tournament hosted in Switzerland’s capital city, Bern. Formerly known as Le Sirupier Cup, it enjoyed its inaugural tournament in the summer of 2018. The event has now become an official tournament of the 7evens Rugby European Series, among other tournament capital city destinations such as Paris, Brussels and Prague. Although primarily a 7s rugby tournament, 2020 will also see Touch Rugby introduced as an integral part of this growing event.
Unfortunately, the event could not take place in 2020 – 2023 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, we hope to be back in 2024, so watch this space!

Nineteen teams from across Europe (including two Touch Rugby teams) got an exciting opportunity to showcase their rugby talents at the Bern City Sevens Rugby Tournament of 2019. The annual event, which takes place around mid-summer, is one of Switzerland’s biggest 7’s Rugby celebrations.
